The Princess of Wales A Consort?

Yes. Technically speaking, the Princess of Wales is the “consort of a prince.” Sounds a little naughty but it’s not. The definitions which fit Princess Kate’s current state are: partner, companion, wife, spouse, associate and to keep company. Archaically speaking (archaic meaning old-fashioned or antiquated) the word princess means: “a woman having sovereign power”. It also means the daughter or granddaughter of a sovereign also a female member of the Royal family.
