The Great Rabbi and the Chivalrous Saladin

Known as Maimonides, this Jewish Rabbi was exceptionally talented and brilliant in the fields of philosophy, math and astronomy. He was also an accomplished physician. Born in 1135, Mosheh ben Maimon was the personal physician for the chivalrous Saracen leader, Saladin. Only two years older than Maimonides, Saladin was the Sultan of both Egypt and Syria from 1174-1193. Saladin fiercely fought against the Crusades and is remembered historically tied to Richard the Lion Hearted with whom he was a great opponent.
