Sleepless Nights… Are Internet Pop-Ups to Blame?

There are nights when I see Internet pop-up ads in my dreams, brought about by my laptop and android phone use. Dreaming of pop-up ads, tells me that I surfed the Internet way too long that day. I mean really, waking up at three o’clock in the morning by an imaginary pop-up ad? That’s just disgusting and disturbing.

Decades ago, when I fled suburbia and moved to rural California, I took long walks along the creek in the thick forest. Those walks brought really pleasant dreams of mushrooms peeking through the leaf mold or wild flowers blooming in scarce sunlight. Although I still take walks into the forest, I don’t do it as often as I did years ago.

As an author of historical fiction and genealogy, I do a lot of Internet research. On those days, I run across a lot of pop-up ads. I know that ads pay for free Internet and someone has to pay. Just not me at three o’clock in the morning.
