The Moneylenders Who Began Britain’s Wall Street

Lombard Street is a lot like America’s Wall Street. Over 800 years ago the Lombards who settled there were moneylenders, giving this London area special historical significance. Who were the Lombards? Their original name, Langobardi may mean “men of the long axes”. The Lombards were members of ancient European Teutonic tribes, defined as tall and blonde and included many other northern European groups. In 568 the Lombards conquered Northern Italy, and contributed to the history of Moravia as it was there they became Arians adapting the doctrine that Christ was not the eternal Son of God nor of that essence. Northern Italy still bears their name, Lombardy.

What Is The Federal Reserve???????

Really! What the heck is the Federal Reserve. I mean what is it really? My sources tell me that the Federal Reserve is the Government’s banker. My sources also tell me it is the Banker’s banker. The Federal Reserve hangs on to all the American bank’s extra cash. The Federal Reserve controls the American supply of money. The Federal Reserve provides a system that enables people around the country to pay checks to one another. You see, during the earlier days of our country, money would pool in some places and not in others, creating a lot of problems. If a businessperson needed a loan, sometimes there was no money for it because the money had collected in other places. And all the gold and silver our country is reputed to have in Fort Knox is there to back up our currency. The Federal Reserve does not do business directly with the public.

What Will the French Like?

Amazon just opened a Kindle store in France enabling them to buy any one of the eight books I have for sale. Immediately I began to wonder if any of my titles would suit them. Perhaps they would enjoy my children’s story about the mouse that tangles with a woman because she cooks with his acorns. The French have mice AND kids. They might also like the book I co-wrote with my husband, “The Common Sense Guide to Good Sex”, the French like sex but they may not need a guidebook although the cartoons are very funny.

The French might enjoy my “Poor Jonny’s Cookbook” where they’ll read how to cook with acorns so they can get in trouble with the mice. I wonder if the French would appreciate my “Secret Genealogy” book for uncovering ancient Jewish ancestry. Would they even care or do they want to put all that behind them and live and let live?

I’ve got one book they may be fascinated with and that’s my story “Gone North”. It’s the rendition of life in the rugged mountains of Northern California complete with rock stars, pot growers and loose women. The French have rock stars and I’m pretty sure they have loose women. But do they have pot growers? Probably not. They might need to smuggle their weed in from Morocco. Hey France – have I got a story for you!

Murder In The Tower Of London Makes Princess An Heiress

The infamous Tower of London. It was here that the two younger brothers of Princess Elizabeth were murdered. Since Elizabeth was the oldest daughter of Edward IV, she became heiress to the throne. Her father had negotiated with several men to marry her but it had not happened, leaving her unmarried at the time she became the next in line to receive the crown. Since her father, King Edward IV was dead, the King in power when her brothers were murdered was Richard III, whom even he contemplated marrying her. But Henry Tudor and Elizabeth asked Parliament for permission to marry, which they did in early 1486. It was almost two years later when she was crowned queen.
