250,000 years ago the sea receded 600 feet below where it is now, making a continuous strip of land from Africa to Ireland’s far west. And what made it nice was that the climate was warm and dry. Eventually, a glacial period broke Europe into islands with high sea levels and cold weather.

Coincidence or not, it was on the “thirteenth” day in 1307 when France’s King Phillip ordered the Knights Templar rounded up and put into chains. In 1872 “thirteen” Freemasons met at New York’s Masonic Hall on East “Thirteenth” Street to create a North American organization of the Ancient Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.
